Sport & Culture

Activities outside of the classroom, both sport and cultural, are just as important as those inside. Extra-mural activities provide a platform for your child to learn more about their personal abilities and develop talents that previously may have been thought unattainable.

At Newton House School we offer a comprehensive extra-mural programme with emphasis placed on participation in and enjoyment of after school activities.

We encourage all children to take part in at least one sport per term and where children take part in more than one activity, we try to accommodate these within our practice schedules.

We uphold best practice in all extra-mural activities and insist on correct behaviour, dress and high standards of sportsmanship at all times.

We place an emphasis on commitment and insist that children who have signed up for an activity, honour that commitment by attending all practices and matches when they are selected.

We reject a ‘win at all costs’ attitude. We play the game within the rules and with the spirit of the sport and expect our players to always do their best.
